Free Functional Skills English Level 1 in Ripon. Classes run at Ripon Community House Ripon, part-time during the day. This makes it easier to fit study around family, caring responsibilities, or other commitments. Over 18 weeks, you'll build your reading, writing, and communication skills to Level 1 standard. To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment stage and may contact

You'll listen and respond in everyday conversations and discussions.

You'll complete forms and write short documents used in work and daily life.
How you will learn
You'll learn through classroom sessions at Ripon Community House Ripon. Teaching covers reading, writing, and speaking and listening. Assessment is by formal exam and a portfolio or task-based assessment, depending on the City and Guilds requirements for this qualification. Your tutor will prepare you for both throughout the course.
