Free Entry Level 2 Maths Course in Scarborough. Classes run at Scarborough Adult Learning and Skills Service, part-time during the day. This course is designed for adults who want to build their maths skills and gain a maths qualification without sitting a formal exam. You must not already hold an Entry Level 2 or higher maths qualification. At 55 hours part-time, the pace is manageable alongside other commitments. You'll earn a City and Guilds Certificate in Mathematics Skills (Entry 2) when you complete the course.

This course is for people who want to improve their Maths skills and gain a qualification in Maths without having to take an exam.You must not have a current Entry 2 level or higher qualification.
Entry requirements
To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at
What you will learn
You'll work with whole numbers, including counting, ordering, and basic calculations.
You'll handle simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
You'll read and interpret straightforward information from charts, tables, and diagrams.
You'll work with basic measures, including length, weight, capacity, and time.
You'll handle money in everyday contexts, such as calculating change and totals.
You'll recognise and use simple fractions and percentages in practical situations.
How you will learn
You'll learn in a classroom at Scarborough Adult Learning and Skills Service, with a tutor guiding you through each topic. This course is assessed through portfolio-based or coursework activities rather than a formal exam. You'll complete tasks and activities that show what you can do, building up evidence of your skills as you progress through the course.
