Free Entry Level 2 ESOL Skills for Life: Writing course in Saint Helens. Classes run at St Helens College. Daytime sessions run part-time, so you can fit study around family or other commitments. The course runs for 90 hours and focuses on written English for speakers of other languages. You'll practise forming sentences, organising ideas, and writing for everyday situations. You'll organise your writing clearly, with a beginning, middle, and end.
You'll write for everyday purposes, such as messages, notes, and short letters.
You'll use common vocabulary accurately in written form.
You'll spell frequently used words correctly.
You'll understand when and how to use capital letters and full stops.
How you will learn
You'll learn in a classroom at St Helens College, working with a teacher and other students. Assessment is through written tasks that reflect real everyday writing situations. You'll complete short written pieces that show what you can do. There are no formal exams. Your work is assessed against the City and Guilds Entry Level 2 standard.
