Free Entry Level 2 English Reading Skills Course in Stoke-on-Trent. Classes run at Regent College, full-time during the day. This free english reading skills course is open to learners with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). You'll develop basic reading skills and practise using reading in everyday situations in the local community. The course runs for 38 weeks and sits alongside an Independent Living Skills qualification. You'll finish with a City and Guilds Award in English Skills, Reading at Entry Level 2.

Who this course is for

Following assessment learners will work on individual targets as part of their principle qualification: Independent Living Skills. Whilst reading will be used in a functional context within the local community learners will work on developing their basic reading skills to enable them to obtain information from some simple text.

How you will learn

Learning is classroom based at Regent College, with a full-time daytime timetable. After an initial assessment, you'll work on individual reading targets. Reading is practised in real community contexts as well as in the classroom. Your progress is tracked against your personal targets throughout the course.

The centre will provide most materials. Regent College will confirm anything else you need before you start.
