Free Entry Level 1 ESOL Skills for Life: Speaking and Listening course in Bury. Classes run at Bury Adult Learning Centre. Daytime sessions run part-time over 24 weeks, so you can fit study around other commitments. The course builds your spoken English and listening skills in everyday situations. It is designed for people whose first language is not English. There are no entry requirements. You will have an initial assessment so the centre can plan your learning at the right level. What you will learn
You'll speak clearly in simple everyday conversations in English.
You'll listen to and understand short spoken instructions and information.
You'll ask and answer basic questions in familiar situations.
You'll follow simple spoken English used in daily life.
You'll build confidence using English when talking to other people.
How you will learn
You will learn in a classroom at Bury Adult Learning Centre, working with a teacher and other students. Assessment is through speaking and listening tasks carried out during the course. You will be assessed on your ability to communicate in spoken English in everyday situations. There is no written exam for this qualification.
