About this course

Early Years Care and Education BA Top Up Course in Hastings. Classes run full-time during the day at East Sussex College Hastings Station Plaza Campus, over 30 weeks. The course is designed for practitioners who have already completed a Foundation Degree, Advanced Apprenticeship, or HND in an early years subject. You'll need to be working or volunteering substantially in a nursery, reception class, or special needs school where the Early Years Foundation Stage is the curriculum. The four modules cover leadership, curriculum and assessment, research, and international perspectives in early years care and education. Fees are £8,250.

Who this course is for

This course has been designed to allow practitioners who have completed a Foundation Degree , Advanced Apprenticeship or HND in an Early Years subject including Care and Education, Childhood Studies or Early Years Educator to continue with their studies.You will be expected to work or volunteer substantially within a nursery, reception class or special needs school where the Early Years Foundation stage is the curriculum.

Entry requirements

Minimum of 64 UCAS points (160 old system) from a BTEC Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma / A Levels / Foundation Diploma / Access Diploma in a related subject; if English is not your first language, an IELTS score of 6.5 with a 6 in writing; proof of qualifications; a satisfactory reference.

There are no exams on this course. Assessment is through a variety of coursework methods across four modules. You'll study in the classroom at East Sussex College Hastings Station Plaza Campus and apply your learning directly within your early years workplace or volunteering setting.
