About this course

BTEC Level 4 Mechanical Engineering Course in Hastings. Classes run at East Sussex College Group Hastings, full-time during the day over 30 weeks.

This Level 4 BTEC mechanical engineering qualification covers mechanical and manufacturing principles, engineering science, and product design. You'll explore analytical methods used by engineers and can extend your studies into computer-aided design and pneumatics and hydraulics. The course is taught in smaller class groups, giving you more contact time with tutors. You'll need Level 3 qualifications to enrol.

You'll finish with a Pearson Edexcel BTEC Higher National Certificate in Mechanical Engineering for England.

Who this course is for

Our HNC Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering course can be studied as a stand-alone qualification, or as the first year of the HND qualification. It will give you a broad understanding of mechanical and manufacturing principles and provide a strong, sector-related emphasis on practical skills needed for the industry. During the modules you will explore the analytical methods used by engineers, product design, and engineering science. You may also decide to expand your knowledge in advanced computer-aided design techniques, and the application of pneumatics and hydraulics to complete the qualification.
