About this course

Free BTEC Level 3 Sports Coaching and Development Course in Sutton Coldfield. Classes run at Romulus FC Academy, full-time over two years. You attend the academy three to four days per week, combining classroom study with hands-on coaching practice. The course covers the breadth of knowledge and skills needed to work as a coach or progress to university. It carries the same UCAS points as three A-Levels, opening routes into higher education sports programmes. You'll need a grade 4 or above in GCSE English and Maths to apply, or a relevant Level 2 qualification considered at the academy's discretion.

Who this course is for

This qualification is intended for those wanting to progress directly to self-employment in the coaching and development sector as a coach and is the equivalent to 3 A-Levels with a route to university. The breadth of optional content in this qualification allows learners to widen their opportunities to progress to a number of different higher education courses.

Entry requirements

Classroom sessions at the academy are supported by practical coaching hours on the pitch, giving you applied experience alongside your written work.
