About this course
Free BTEC Level 3 Performing Arts Course in Uxbridge. Classes run at Uxbridge High School, full-time during the day over two years. You'll need five GCSEs at grade A* to C, including English and Maths, to be considered for a place. The course covers a wide range of theatre genres, from contemporary plays to Theatre in Education, and gives you space to develop your own creative work. You'll study both the academic and practical sides of performing arts, and work with professional actors. This level 3 btec performing arts qualification is available as a single or double option.
Who this course is for
There is more than one option if you would like to study drama or performing arts at post-16. The Diploma in Performance Arts is offered as a single or double option and the course allows our students to explore all aspects of the arts, both academically and practically. Students study a variety of different theatre genres from contemporary plays to Theatre in Education whilst developing their own creativity in a number of their own compositions. Students will work with professional actors and in local theatres to develop these pieces of performance in a very real way.

How you will learn
The BTEC National Diploma is assessed through a combination of coursework and externally set assignments. You'll complete unit-based projects that are marked internally and moderated by Pearson Edexcel. Some units include externally assessed tasks set and marked by the awarding body. Classroom sessions at Uxbridge High School combine taught lessons, practical workshops, and independent study. There is no written exam for every unit, but some external assessments are timed and completed under supervised conditions.
