Free BTEC Level 3 Performing Arts Course in Truro. Classes run at Truro College, full-time during the day over two years. This is a practical course built around performance projects, developing your skills as an actor or triple threat performer working across acting, singing, and movement. You'll follow a specialist pathway and work toward a career or further study in the performing arts. Entry requires four GCSEs at Grade 4, including English Language or Literature and/or Maths, plus an audition at interview.
Who this course is for
Dancers are expected to be versatile technicians, performers, and communicators. This course will provide you with a strong foundation in a variety of techniques, engage you in dance analysis and encourage you to explore your creativity as a choreographer.
This course focuses on developing skills in a range of dance styles and explores ways to create and develop movement. You will participate in regular ballet, contemporary and jazz classes alongside creative and contextual workshops. If you are passionate about dance, enjoy working as a member of an ensemble and wish to enhance your contextual knowledge then studying on this course will allow you to develop both in an academic and practical way. You will achieve a qualification that is equivalent to three A Levels, which will allow you to progress on to a multitude of specialist training programmes at conservatoires and universities
Entry requirements
Four GCSEs at Grade 4 to include either English Language (or Literature) and /or Maths. A Level 2 Diploma at Merit in an appropriate subject can also be considered (plus GCSE English and/or Maths). You will also be asked to attend an interview in which you will perform an audition dance. Whilst previous dance training is required, it is not expected that you will be experienced and confidence in each technique studied.

Each project builds on the last, so your skills develop progressively across the two years.
