Free BTEC Level 3 Performing Arts Course in Beccles. Classes run at Sir John Leman High School, full-time over two years. This level 3 btec performing arts course is free for students aged 16 to 19 years old who are resident in the UK. You'll work in a group to create and perform to a high standard, developing commitment, self-discipline, and time management alongside your performing skills. The course expects you to organise your own rehearsals and take real ownership of your work. Entry is ideally GCSE Drama at grade 5, or a Performing Arts BTEC Level 2 Merit or equivalent. Candidates who don't meet this may be considered after interview.

Who this course is for

This is a two year long vocational qualification for the performing arts. The course offers you the chance to build on your enthusiasm for creating high standard performances within a dynamic group. You will be encouraged to demonstrate your commitment, energy, self discipline and time management skills as well as you performing talents. Students are expected to be self motivated and enthusiastic. They will need to be able to organise their own rehearsals and take responsibility for the completion of their assignment work. Students will also need to be prepared to attend lunchtime and after school rehearsals when necessary.

Entry requirements

Ideally GCSE Drama Grade 5 or Performing Arts BTEC Level 2 Merit (or equivalent). Students not meeting this criteria may be considered after interview with Mrs. R. Mayers

How you will learn

Some units are assessed internally by your tutors; others are set and marked externally by Pearson Edexcel. You are expected to be self-motivated, manage your own rehearsal time, and meet deadlines throughout the two years.
