About this course

Free BTEC Level 3 Performing Arts Course in Bexhill-on-Sea. Classes run at Bexhill College, full-time over two years.

The course focuses on dance. You'll explore a wide range of dance styles, develop your technique, and build choreographic and performance skills. Units cover exploring performance styles, creating performance material, performing as part of an ensemble, and planning a career in the industry. You'll work solo, in duos, and in groups. There are also trips to shows and workshops, plus the chance to join one of three dance companies at the College.

You'll finish with a Pearson Edexcel BTEC National Foundation Diploma in Performing Arts Practice.

Who this course is for

This is a course for students who have strong practical acting ability and want to explore different styles of acting in performance-based assessments.

Entry requirements

At least four to five GCSEs graded 9-4 including English at grade 4 or above. Experience of performing is essential. This course can’t be taken with the Dance National Foundation Diploma.

How you will learn

Assessment methods are varied and include practical performance assessments and written coursework. You'll work in class-based sessions, group rehearsals, and performance settings.

The centre will provide most materials. Bexhill College will confirm anything else you need before you start. There will be some costs for trips to performances and workshops during the two years.
