Free BTEC Level 3 Music Course in Tipton. Classes run at Gospel Oak School, full-time over two years. To join, you'll need at least five GCSEs at grade 4 to 9, including Maths and English, plus musical instrument ability at roughly Grade 3 standard or above. An audition with the music team is also required. This level 3 BTEC music qualification is awarded by Pearson Edexcel.
Who this course is for
The Level 3 National Extended Certificate in Music Performance provides a practical and theoretical exploration of the key skills and methods of music learning in a vocational context. Students will explore ensemble and solo performances, the core principles of music theory and in-depth insight and reflection on their skills and development as a musician. This course provides them an insight into the music industry and what it would be like to be a self-employed musician working within an ever-growing and competitive sector.
Entry requirements
A minimum of 5 4-9 GCSE's including Maths and English. Although not essential, having studied Level 2 Music Practice tech award would be advantageous. Musical instrument ability equivalent to grade 3 performance standard or higher is essential and an audition with the music team to showcase this.

The centre will provide most materials. Gospel Oak School will confirm anything else you need before you start. You will need access to your own musical instrument, as performance practice is central to the course.
