About this course

Free BTEC Level 1 Engineering Course in Benfleet. Classes run at USP College Seevic Campus, full-time during the day.

The course runs for one year and covers both theory and practical engineering work. You'll learn health and safety in an engineering workshop, core engineering principles, and hands-on skills. The course is physically active, so expect time on your feet and working with tools and equipment. You'll need at least Grade 2 in GCSE English Language and Maths to join.

You'll finish with a Pearson Edexcel BTEC Introductory Award in Engineering at Level 1.

Who this course is for

If you want a career working in Engineering, this is the course for you. You?ll gain the skills, knowledge and understanding needed to begin your engineering career. The course is a mixture of theory and practical work with an emphasis on understanding the health and safety requirements of working in an Engineering workshop. Due to the practical nature of the course it can be physically demanding at times. Upon successful completion of the Level 1 course, (one year) you will be able to continue to a Level 2 qualification (one year) in Engineering. On passing the level 2 course you can enrol onto the level 3 course which is studying units you have achieved from level 1 and 2 but in greater depth plus other exciting but challenging units that will open doors for a chosen career in Engineering.
