About this course

Free BTEC in Health and Social Care course in York. Classes run full-time at Archbishop Holgate's Sixth Form, daytime over two years. This level 3 btec in health and social care qualification is designed for post-16 learners aged 16 to 19 years old. You'll study the knowledge and skills that underpin work in health, care, and support settings. Entry requires four GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including grade 4 in English or Maths. Learners with grade 3 or below in English or Maths will have an individual meeting to find the right pathway. Pearson Edexcel BTEC National Extended Certificate in Health and Social Care with certificate.

Entry requirements

Automatic entry onto the Level 3 Extended Diploma course includes students achieving 4 x Grade 9-4 or equivalent at GCSE alongside a Grade 4 in English and/or Mathematics. Students with either English and/or Mathematics at Grade 3 or below, will have an individual meeting to determine the most suitable pathway in Sixth Form.

Classroom-based learning at Archbishop Holgate's Sixth Form includes taught sessions, case studies, and coursework. Internal assignments are marked by the centre and moderated by Pearson. External assessments are sat under exam conditions.
