Entry requirements

To be eligible for the Air Source Heat Pump Upskill Bootcamp, you must:

Have the right to work in the UK; Be over 19 years old on or before the 31st August 2025; Live in Cumbria, and; Have a minimum NVQ Level 2/3 qualification in plumbing or conventional heating engineering, or a demonstrable number of years of relevant experience.

  • You'll learn how to size and select heat pump equipment for domestic and light commercial properties.
  • You'll develop skills in installing air source heat pump systems to industry standards.

  • You'll learn how to fault-find and troubleshoot common heat pump issues.

How you will learn

Training is classroom based and delivered full-time during the day at The Gas Rooms in Carnforth. You'll learn through a mix of taught sessions and practical, hands-on work. Assessment is carried out through the nationally accredited BPEC programme, covering both knowledge and practical competence. The course runs over 2 weeks.
