About this course

Free Advanced GCE in Computer Science in Ealing. Classes run at Featherstone High School. The course runs full-time over 18 months across two years of sixth form study. You'll cover processor architecture, software development, programming, data structures, algorithms, and the legal and ethical dimensions of computing. The AS year builds core knowledge assessed by two written exams; the A Level year develops that understanding further. Entry requires GCSE grades including a grade 6 or above in Computer Science and Maths, plus an average point score above 5.

(Assessment by two 1:1/4 Hour exams)

A Level: Develops further knowledge and understanding of the same content areas as AS.

PLUS The learner will choose a computing problem where they will: Analyse the problem; Design the solution; Develop the solution; Evaluation the solution.

(Assessment by two 2:1/2 Hour exams + Project assessment)

Entry requirements

Entrance Criteria 5A*-C/9-4 including English Lang. Grade B/6 in GCSE Computer Science and Maths required. Students must also have an APS above 5. 6.
