About this course

Free Access to HE Nursing Course. Study online, at your own pace, over around 9 to 12 months. This is a Level 3 access to HE nursing qualification designed to prepare you for university-level nursing study. It covers the academic skills universities expect, including essay writing, research, and exam preparation, alongside nursing-focused topics such as disease control, human biology, infection and immunity, and healthcare legislation. You'll need GCSE grade 4 or above in English and maths, or a relevant Level 2 qualification with Functional Skills at Level 2.

The course is delivered entirely online through distance learning, so you study at times that suit you. You'll complete written assignments, essays, and research tasks throughout the year. There is also an online assessment and interview with course tutors before you enrol, to confirm the course is the right level for you. Assessment is ongoing rather than exam-only, building the academic skills you'll need at university.
