Entry Level ESOL Skills for Life Course in Enfield. Classes run at Barnet and Southgate College Southgate Campus, full-time during the day. This is an english for speakers of other languages course taught over 36 weeks. You'll study English, maths, and IT alongside enrichment subjects including science, sport, and citizenship. Arts and crafts, day trips, and charity fundraising are also part of the programme. To join, you must be aged 16 to 18 years old at the start of the course and be a permanent resident, refugee, or asylum seeker. A tuition fee applies. You'll complete the Ascentis Entry Level 1 Certificate in ESOL Skills for Life.

Who this course is for

English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) for young adults aged 16 - 18. You will study English, Maths, IT. You will also have enrichment in a range of subjects including, Science, Sport and Citizenship. Students also take part in arts and crafts activities, daytrips and hold fundraising events for charities.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements but you must be a permanent resident, refugee or asylum seeker and aged between 16 and 18 at the start of the course.

Assessment is through coursework and tasks set by your tutor. You'll be assessed on your speaking, listening, reading, and writing in English. The centre will carry out an initial assessment before you start to confirm this is the right level for you.
