About this course

Entry Level 3 French Speaking and Listening Course. Study online, at your own pace, over 20 weeks.

No prior knowledge of French is needed. The course starts with first contacts and basic greetings, then moves on to everyday phrases and ordering in a café. You build a small portfolio of work as you go. There are no exams.

You'll finish with an Entry Level 3 Award in Speaking and Listening in French.

Who this course is for

This complete beginners course is suitable for learners who have never learned French before or who have a very limited knowledge. It will cover first contacts, basic "getting to know you" phrases and ordering drinks and snacks in a café.

You will work towards the SEG Awards (Skills and Education group is the Awarding Body) Entry 3 Award in Speaking and Listening in French. This accreditation is based on work done in class or at home to build up a small portfolio, there are no examinations. The SEG Awards registration fee has been included in the course fee.

Entry requirements

No prior knowledge of the language is necessary.

You study online and complete work in your own time. Assessment is portfolio-based. You gather evidence of your speaking and listening as you work through the course. There are no written exams. Your portfolio is built up from tasks completed during study, and it forms the basis of your final assessment.
