About this course

Entry Level 3 ESOL Skills for Life: Speaking and Listening Course in Richmond upon Thames. Classes run at Parkshot, part-time during the day. Before you start, you take an English language assessment so the centre can place you at the right level. The course runs over 10 weeks. You'll develop your spoken English, work on pronunciation, and practise communicating in formal and informal situations. These entry level ESOL skills for life: speaking and listening classes are taught by teachers with English language teaching experience. Tuition and exam fees apply, though you may be eligible for funding or an Advanced Learner Loan.

Entry requirements

We have courses at all levels of the Adult ESOL Curriculum from Pre-Entry (for complete beginners) and Entry Level up to Level 2. We will help you find the correct level for you before you start your course. Before you start this course, you need to take an English language assessment to help us put you in the right level of Speaking and Listening course.

  • You'll improve your listening skills and understanding of spoken English.
  • You'll work on your pronunciation to communicate more clearly.
  • You'll build vocabulary and grammar knowledge for real conversations.

How you will learn

You'll learn in a classroom with other adult learners. Teaching is face-to-face, with speaking and listening activities, group discussions, and pronunciation practice. Assessment is through a speaking and listening exam set by Ascentis. The centre will explain what the assessment involves before you sit it.
