Free Entry Level 3 ESOL Skills for Life: Reading course in Croydon. Classes run at Croydon College. This entry level ESOL skills for life: reading qualification focuses on building your English reading skills if English is not your first language. You'll work toward understanding everyday texts, written information, and materials you meet at work or in daily life. There are no formal entry requirements. Croydon College will assess your current level before you start and place you on the right course.

Who this course is for

This course is for you if you speak English as a second or other language. We offer exciting classes to help you improve your skills from Pre-Entry to Level 2 both full and part time including evenings for some levels. As well as improving your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills you will prepare to progress to another college course or the next level of English. You will also improve the skills you need to either get a job or existing skills such as working in a team, communication skills and researching future careers.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements. We test your abilities before you start and place you on the course that best fits the skills you already have. You must show at interview that you are committed to your studies and keen to develop all of your work skills, not just your English.

  • You'll follow written instructions and information used in daily life and work.

How you will learn

You'll learn through classroom-based sessions at Croydon College. Learning is interactive, with reading tasks and activities drawn from everyday situations. Assessment is through tasks that test your reading skills directly, in line with the Ascentis Entry Level 3 Award in ESOL Skills for Life (Reading). Your tutor will track your progress throughout the course.
