Entry Level 2 ESOL Skills for Life: Speaking and Listening in Richmond upon Thames. Evening classes run at Parkshot, twice a week over 12 weeks. This is an english for speakers of other languages course that builds your writing, grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary. Before you start, you'll take an English language assessment so Parkshot can place you at the right level. You'll study in a small adult group with experienced English language teachers. The course costs vary by session, and you may be eligible for funding or an Advanced Learner Loan to help with fees.

Entry requirements

We have courses at all levels of the Adult ESOL Curriculum, from Pre-Entry to Level 2. Before you start this course, you need to take an English language assessment. This helps us place you in the right level of writing course.

What you will learn

  • You'll develop your written English, including grammar and punctuation.
  • You'll build your vocabulary for everyday and work situations.
  • You'll practise structuring sentences and paragraphs clearly.
  • You'll improve your ability to communicate in writing at Entry Level 2.
  • You'll gain confidence writing for practical purposes such as forms, messages, and short texts.

How you will learn

Classes are classroom based, meeting twice a week in the evening at Parkshot. You'll learn through guided writing tasks, teacher feedback, and group activities. Assessment is through written tasks that reflect the Entry Level 2 standard. Your teachers have English language teaching experience and will support you throughout the course.

The centre will provide most materials. Parkshot will confirm anything else you need before you start.
