Who this course is for

In this course, you will develop Speaking & Listening, Reading and Writing skills. To achieve the full ESOL Entry Level 2 qualification, you must pass Speaking and Listening Entry Level 2, Reading Entry Level 2 and Writing Entry Level 2. At the end of Term 1, you will take the Entry Level 2 Speaking and Listening exam.

Entry requirements

You will take an initial assessment, which will determine your current level of English. You may join this course, if your assessed level is just below the standards at Entry Level 2.

What you will learn

  • You'll develop your spoken English in everyday conversations.
  • You'll practise listening and responding to others clearly.
  • You'll build confidence speaking in familiar situations, such as work, shopping, or appointments.
  • You'll learn to follow and give simple spoken instructions.
  • You'll prepare for the Entry Level 2 Speaking and Listening exam.

How you will learn

Classes are held in the evening at the centre. You'll learn through classroom activities, speaking practice, and listening tasks. Assessment is by a formal Speaking and Listening exam at the end of the course. This is the exam for the Entry Level 2 component of the full ESOL qualification. To gain the full ESOL Entry Level 2 Qualification, you would also need to pass the Reading and Writing components separately.
