About this course

Entry Level 2 Employability Skills Course in Poole. Classes run at the Dolphin Centre, part-time on Thursday afternoons. The course runs for 7 weeks, with three hours per session. You'll build basic IT skills and practise internet searches and form completion in the context of job applications. No previous ICT experience is needed. Concessions are available, so fees may be reduced for eligible learners. The course covers three units, from using hardware to working with software applications.

This course is suitable for everyone. Do not worry if you have no previous experience of ICT as everyone else on the course will be in the same boat.�

What you will learn

  • You'll identify the main parts of an ICT system and use hardware confidently.
  • You'll name and use software applications for practical tasks.
  • You'll carry out internet searches to find information.
  • You'll complete online forms, including job application forms.
  • You'll develop the digital skills needed to apply for work.

How you will learn

You'll learn in a classroom at the Dolphin Centre, with weekly three-hour sessions over seven weeks. Teaching is hands-on and practical. You'll complete three units through in-class activities and tasks. Assessment is based on the work you produce during the course, not a formal exam.
