Entry requirements

You need to be working toward Entry Level 1 Maths to join this course. You will need to sit a computer-based initial assessment to show your current maths level.

What you will learn

  • You'll read, write, order and compare numbers up to 20.
  • You'll add and subtract whole numbers up to 20.
  • You'll recognise and use the symbols +, - and =.
  • You'll identify coins and notes and write amounts using £ and p.
  • You'll read 12-hour digital and analogue clocks in hours.
  • You'll name the days of the week, months, and seasons in order.
  • You'll compare measures including size, length, weight and capacity.
  • You'll identify and describe common 2D shapes.

How you will learn

You'll learn in a classroom at Parkshot, with tutor support throughout. Before the course begins, you'll sit a computer-based initial assessment to confirm your current maths level. Assessment for the qualification is also computer-based. Tuition and exam fees apply for this course.
