About this course

Level 1 ESOL Skills for Life: Writing Course in Richmond upon Thames. Classes run at Parkshot, part-time over 12 weeks. Evening and daytime sessions are available, so you can fit study around your schedule. Before you start, you'll take an English language assessment. Entry requirements

We have courses at all levels of the Adult ESOL Curriculum from Pre-Entry (for complete beginners) and Entry Level up to Level 2. We will help you find the correct level for you before you start your course. Before you start this course, you need to take an English language assessment to help us put you in the right level of writing course.

  • You'll write in both formal and informal styles for different purposes.
  • You'll develop your knowledge of punctuation and how to use it correctly.
  • You'll improve your grammar and expand your vocabulary.
  • You'll build skills in writing different types of texts, such as letters and messages.
  • You'll practise writing at Level 1 of the Adult ESOL Curriculum.

How you will learn

You'll learn in a classroom with other adults, taught by teachers with English language teaching experience. Classes are part-time, running across 12 weeks. Assessment is through written tasks that demonstrate your skills in planning, writing, and using grammar and punctuation. You'll be assessed on your ability to produce different types of written texts at Level 1.
