What you will learn

  • You'll write simple words and short sentences in English.
  • You'll spell common everyday words correctly.
  • You'll use basic punctuation, including capital letters and full stops.
  • You'll write for familiar everyday purposes, such as filling in forms or writing a short message.
  • You'll organise your writing so it is clear and easy to follow.
  • You'll develop confidence using the Roman alphabet in written English.

How you will learn

You'll learn in a classroom with a teacher and other students. Learning is practical and focused on everyday writing tasks. Assessment is through written tasks that show what you can do. You'll complete these as part of your coursework rather than in a formal timed exam. The teacher will guide you through each task and give you feedback along the way.
