About this course

CIMA BA2 Business Accounting Practice Course in Nottingham. Classes run at Kaplan Nottingham on weekends, so you can study without giving up your working week. The course may be funded through a Government Apprenticeship. If you're not eligible for that route, a payment plan may be available. Over 6 days of classroom-based study, you'll cover the knowledge and skills tested in the CIMA BA2 Objective Test. Your tutor guides you through a structured schedule and printed CIMA study materials are included. A good understanding of maths and English is expected before you start.

Who this course is for

Kaplan's CIMA BA4 course aims to support you in passing your exam and help you to gain the skills you need for a successful career in accountancy. You'll work through a structured study schedule targeted towards an Objective Test (OT). Your tutor will support and guide you through the course and answer any questions you may have.

Included in our courses are printed copies of our Official CIMA material along with soft copies which can be found on your personalised, online learning portal, MyKaplan (www.mykaplan.co.uk). Also on MyKaplan you will get a range of online resources such as: Subject Overview, Resource Guide, Study Programme, Tutor-led Units, Knowledge Check Tests,Mock Exams and Test Yourself facility.

The BA4 syllabus is split into 4 general areas:

Business ethics and ethical conflict (30%) Corporate governance, controls and corporate social responsibility (45%) General principles of the legal system, contract and employment law (15%) Company administration (10%)

Entry requirements

No entry requirements, although you will need a good understanding of Maths and English.

  • You'll understand budgeting processes and how to prepare and interpret budgets.
  • You'll learn how to analyse financial performance using key accounting techniques.
  • You'll explore the principles of management accounting and how they support business decisions.
  • You'll practise the question styles used in the CIMA BA2 Objective Test.
  • You'll build familiarity with financial statements and how to read them in a business context.

How you will learn

You'll attend weekend classroom sessions at Kaplan Nottingham over 6 days. A tutor leads each session, working through a structured schedule aimed at the CIMA BA2 Objective Test. You'll use printed Official CIMA study materials included with the course, plus access to soft copies through an online learning portal. Assessment is by Objective Test on completion.
