About this course

BTEC Level 3 Uniformed Protective Services Course in Lancaster. Classes run at Lancaster and Morecambe College, full-time over two years. You'll need five GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, including Maths and English, or a relevant Level 2 qualification with equivalent Maths and English grades. The course covers the knowledge and skills needed for careers across the emergency services, armed forces, and other uniformed services. Alongside your level 3 btec uniformed protective services classes, you'll develop employability skills and take part in careers-related activities including employer encounters and educational trips. Maths and English are included in the study programme where applicable.

Who this course is for

This course is designed for 16-18 year old and adult learners the course will include a substantial amount of careers related learning designed to support progression to the suitable next step, this could include educational trips, employability skills and employer encounters such as guest speakers. For 16-18 year old will be delivered as a study programme which includes math and English where applicable and work experience.

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or higher including Maths and English OR a Level 2 related qualification PLUS grade C/4 or higher in BOTH Maths and English.

Entry criteria will be applied at the discretion of the course manager.

How you will learn

Learning is classroom based, full-time during the day. The Pearson Edexcel BTEC National Extended Diploma is assessed through a combination of assignments, projects, and externally set assessments. You'll build a portfolio of work across the two years. The study programme includes work experience and employer encounters such as guest speakers, alongside educational trips that support your understanding of the sector.

The centre will provide most materials. Lancaster and Morecambe College will confirm anything else you need before you start. Note that travelling costs of approximately £55 per year apply.
