About this course

BTEC Level 3 Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Course. Study online at your own pace over 24 months. This Pearson Edexcel BTEC Diploma covers advanced manufacturing engineering knowledge across pathways including Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic, and Motorsport. You choose the pathway and size that fits your goals, from 3 to 18 units. You'll need five GCSEs at grade 4 or above (or A to C under the old grading) to enrol. The level 3 BTEC advanced manufacturing engineering qualification is recognised by employers in engineering and manufacturing.

Who this course is for

The AME Level 3 is a staple in terms of engineering knowledge. It is a BTEC Specialist qualification, similar to the BTEC Nationals 2010 (QCF). It is available in different sizes, 3, 6, 9, 12 and 18 units. There are different pathways, such as Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic or Motorsport.

Entry requirements

5 GCSE's (A-C, 4-9)

What you will learn

  • You'll develop technical knowledge in advanced manufacturing engineering principles.
  • You'll study specialist content in your chosen pathway: Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic, or Motorsport.
  • You'll learn how engineering systems and processes are designed, developed, and maintained.
  • You'll understand quality, safety, and production standards used in manufacturing environments.
  • You'll build knowledge of materials, components, and their applications in engineering contexts.

How you will learn

You study online, working through units at a pace that fits your schedule. The Diploma is assessed through assignments and written tasks that test your technical knowledge. You complete units progressively, and the number of units you study depends on the size of Diploma you enrol for. All study and submission is done remotely.

What you will need to bring

The centre will provide most materials. Semester Learning and Development will confirm anything else you need before you start.
