BTEC Level 2 Creative Media Skills Course in Derby. Classes run at Derby College @ the Joseph Wright Centre, full-time during the day over 36 weeks. You'll explore a broad range of media skills across video, design and audio, building practical ability alongside research, critical thinking and reflection. The course is structured around two units: Skills Development and a Creative Media Project, with a series of projects covering different areas of the media sector. You'll need at least four GCSE grade 3s, including grade 3 in both English Language and Maths.
Who this course is for
Are you interested in exploring what the media sector has to offer? This one-year course is designed to give you a general overview of what media is and the skills you need to succeed.This qualification gives you the opportunity to develop a range of practical skills used within the sector as well as developing your research skills, critical thinking and reflection skills. The knowledge and skills you’ll develop over the year will be enhanced by a series of projects focusing on different areas of the media sector.The Level 2 Certificate is equivalent to one GCSE. To support your main study programme, personal and professional development and work experience, you will also resit your English Language and Maths GCSEs.
Entry requirements
You will need at least four 3 grades at GCSE, with a minimum grade 3 in both English Language and Maths.
