Students should be employed in the SEND sector and have either a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Foundation Degree (or equivalent qual at level 5) or a degree in an unrelated subject with a substantial experience of working with children in SEND Education. You should have achieved GCSE at Grade C/4 or above (or recognised equivalents) in English and Maths.
All students who are not currently employed in an educational setting will require DBS checks prior to the start of the course.

What you could study next
With a BA (Hons) in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, you could go on to a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) to qualify as a teacher, or a Master's degree in Inclusive Education or Special Educational Needs. A National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCo) is the recognised qualification for practising SENCOs in England and is worth exploring if you move into a coordination role.
