The AM2E Assessment is specifically for electricians who already have extensive experience working in the industry and who are completing their Experienced Worker Assessment (EWA). The EWA is designed for people in the trade who don't have any formally recognised qualifications in electrical installation but who are already industry-competent. You can only book your AM2E Assessment once you have successfully completed your EWA. If you haven't already completed an AM2 assessment (at some point in the past), you will need to do the full AM2E Assessment. If you have completed an AM2 assessment, you will only have to do certain supplementary units of the AM2E depending on when you did your AM2. For those who got their AM2 Assessment before 2010, please see our AM2E Pre-April 20210 Testing & Safe Isolation Unit. For those who got their AM2 after April 2010, please see our AM2E Post-April 2010 - Containment & Safe Isolation Unit. If you have non-UK qualifications, you can only take the AM2E as the final step in the EWA process - it cannot be taken on a stand-alone basis. Please read the guidance on the ECS website. If you are considering taking the Experienced Worker Assessment please read this important notice.
