About this course

AAT Level 3 Bookkeeping Course in Lewisham. Classes run at Lewisham College, part-time during the day.

The course runs over 18 weeks. You'll study accounts preparation, cost and revenue, and taxation. These are the core skills for finance and bookkeeping roles. You'll also cover double-entry bookkeeping and financial statements. The AAT bookkeeping classes are taught in a classroom, so you can ask questions and get support as you go.

You'll ideally need to have completed a Level 2 AAT qualification before starting. If you're entering at Level 3, the college runs an initial assessment to check your knowledge. You'll finish with an AAT Level 3 Certificate in Bookkeeping.

Who this course is for

The Advanced Diploma in Accounting will prepare you for finance officer roles by giving you a solid foundation in accounts preparation, cost & revenue and taxation. It is suited for those who have successfully completed AAT L2 Certificate, unqualified accounting staff who are at an intermediate level and want to develop their accounting skills, employers looking to upskill their staff, people looking to change their careers and those who are looking for an A Level alternative.

Entry requirements

You'll ideally need to have completed the Level 2 qualification to start this course.

We run an initial assessment for students entering directly at Level 3 to ensure their knowledge is at a high enough standard.

You'll also need a good level of English & Maths. This can be via Level 2 qualifications or GCSEs in both subjects at grade 4 (C) or above, or initial diagnostic assessments (Adults). You will also need basic IT skills.
