Are you an organised, hands-on stores professional with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy and efficiency?

We’re looking for a Stores Assistant to join our Operations team at Powerstar’s Bromsgrove facility. You’ll be at the heart of our stores function, ensuring materials and components are received, stored and distributed accurately to support production and customer delivery.

As a Stores Assistant, you’ll take ownership of goods-in processes, stock accuracy and material movements across the site. Working closely with Procurement, Production and Operations teams, you’ll help maintain a safe, organised and efficient stores environment that keeps our manufacturing operation running smoothly. Your contribution will directly support on-time production, inventory accuracy and continuous improvement across the business.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive and check deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes
  • Inspect goods for damage or discrepancies and ensure accurate booking-in on the inventory system
  • Maintain accurate stock records and support cycle counts and stock takes
  • Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies
  • Accurately pick, pack and issue materials in line with production schedules
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised stores environment in line with 5S principles
  • Update stock movements on the ERP/MRP system and maintain accurate documentation
  • Adhere to health and safety policies, including safe manual handling and equipment use
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the stores function

Personal Specification

Essential:

  • Valid Forklift Truck Licence
  • Previous experience working in a warehouse or stores environment
  • Experience handling goods in/out processes
  • Basic stock control experience

Desirable:

  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment
