Summary
The successful candidate will work alongside experienced members of the maintenance team while developing practical skills in painting and decorating and other areas across residential property maintenance, repairs, and refurbishment.
What you will do at work
- Assist with painting and decorating on refurbishment of newly acquired properties
- Assist with general property maintenance and repairs.
- Carry out minor joinery, decorating and patch repairs.
- Assist with fault finding and identifying maintenance issues.
- Assemble and install furniture and property furnishings.
- Assist with property refurbishments and preparation of properties for occupation.
- Attend properties to investigate reported maintenance issues.
- Assist with planned and reactive maintenance.
- Support the team with property inspections and snagging.
- Maintain tools, equipment and company vehicles in a safe and tidy condition.
- Follow company health & safety procedures and safe systems of work.
- Accurately update maintenance tasks and report completed work.
- Work alongside contractors and other members of the Property Services Team where required.
Training
The apprenticeship will take place 4 x days per week in the workplace with 1 x day release to East Durham College per week.

About this employer
Blue Skies Property Services supports a growing portfolio of serviced accommodation and residential rental properties. The Property Services team is responsible for maintenance, repairs, refurbishments, property preparation and ongoing support across the portfolio.
The apprentice will become part of a growing maintenance team and gain experience across a wide variety of properties and practical maintenance activities.
