Summary
The Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship provides the knowledge and practical skills needed to work effectively in a pharmacy. Apprentices develop skills in dispensing, customer service, stock management, medicines, health and safety, and supporting patients under the supervision of a pharmacist.
What you will do at work
A Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprentice will support the pharmacy team with a range of day-to-day duties, including:
- Serving customers and providing excellent customer service
- Receiving and processing prescriptions
- Assisting with the dispensing and preparation of medicines under supervision
- Ordering, checking and managing stock levels
- Putting away deliveries and rotating stock
- Maintaining accurate records and patient confidentiality
- Supporting the sale of over-the-counter medicines and healthcare products
- Following health, safety and infection control procedures
- Keeping the pharmacy clean, organised and compliant
- Signposting patients to appropriate healthcare services when required
These duties help apprentices develop the skills and knowledge needed to work confidently within a community or hospital pharmacy setting.
