About this course

Free Level 3 Sport Course in Cheltenham. Classes run at Cleeve School, full-time during the day.

The course covers sports performance, coaching, fitness testing, and sports psychology. You'll study both theory and practical work. Projects and assignments are based on realistic workplace situations. The course runs over 22 months.

You'll finish with a Pearson Edexcel BTEC National Diploma in Sport.

Who this course is for

This course specifically looks at a range of topics relating to sports performance, including training, coaching, fitness testing, psychology, in a variety of sporting environments. Study is practical and theoretical and students will complete projects and assignments that are based on realistic work-place situations, activities and demands. These situations give the learners the knowledge, understanding and skills that they need in order to prepare them for employment. We expect that students have a keen interest in many different aspects of sport, and will follow sporting developments. We also expect that students are actively participating in sports either for a school team or outside of school as certain modules require sporting performance to be analysed, and so participants need to perform competitively to a good level in order to pass some of the modules.
