Free Level 1 Car Mechanic Course in Salisbury. Classes run at Wiltshire College and University Centre Salisbury Campus, full-time over 35 weeks. You'll cover the fundamentals of vehicle repair and servicing, including engine principles, braking systems, electrical systems, and health and safety in the workshop. Units also cover suspension, cooling, ignition, exhaust, and wheels and tyres. Assessment combines practical workshop assignments, an e-portfolio, and one online exam. If you don't already hold GCSEs in maths and English at grade 4, you'll study those alongside the course.

How you will learn
You'll learn in industry-standard workshops and technical classrooms, spending three days a week at the campus. Assessment is through practical assignments completed in the workshop, knowledge-based units recorded in an e-portfolio, and one online exam. You'll also complete a minimum of 30 hours of work experience as part of the programme.
