About this course

Free Entry Level Construction Skills Course in Northampton. Classes run at Northampton College, full-time during the day.

You do not need any qualifications to start. The course covers carpentry, painting and decorating, plumbing, electrical basics, and health and safety. You work in well-equipped workshops using industry tools. It runs over one year. You will also work on your maths and English alongside the construction units.

You will finish with a City and Guilds Extended Certificate in Construction Skills at Entry Level 3.

Who this course is for

This course is ideal if you have an interest in construction and wish to explore the various construction trade. This course is very supportive and is a great oppurtunity to focus on improving your grades within maths and English. The Foundation Multi-skills course is a vocational programme within the Northampton College working in our modern well equipped workshops with industry relevant equipment. You will work on various carpentry, painting and decorating and Health and Safety tasks, developing new skills and knowledge used in the construction industry.

Entry requirements

To start a Vocational Studies Programme you do not need any qualifications. Just the motivation to attend and take part! Candidates will mainly have GCSE grades 1 or 2 (G/F)
